There are songs about cows, there are special words for speaking to cows, and there are Swiss artists who have based their careers on painting cows. There are cow beauty contests, and cow parades, the wonderful annual desalpe, when the cows, bedecked with flowers and ribbons, come down from the higher pastures for the winter.

And Switzerland's gorgeous cows are indeed part of the the magic of the landscape.
